Technology

The SBW Scanhead is a scanner head module designed for high-speed, high-precision laser welding. It integrates Galvano mirrors, F-Theta lens, protective glass, cooling, and interface modules into a single unit that rapidly positions the laser beam and implements various weld patterns as the core optics and motion unit.

It is optimized for laser welding applications that demand high-speed scanning and micron-level positioning—such as secondary battery electrodes, busbars, and modules; automotive electrical components; and precision electronic parts.

  • Optimized for high-speed welding
  • High-quality, high-precision welding
  • High flexibility for line and product changeovers
  • Compatible with On-The-Fly, Vision, and monitoring systems
  • Improved maintenance and operational efficiency

Key Features

High-Speed Galvano Scanning

X/Y scanning with Galvano mirrors enables high-speed patterns and multi-spot welding.

High-Precision Position Control

Micron-level repeatability within the FOV supports straight, curved, serpentine, spiral, and other weld paths.

Integrated Laser & Optics

F-Theta lens, protective glass, and air curtain protect the optics from particles and spatter during processing.

High-Power Laser Design

Cooling and optics optimized for high-power fiber lasers maintain stable beam quality during extended continuous operation.

Flexible Interface

Dedicated controller with PLC and motion controller integration for easy system integration with OTF welding, Vision, LWM, and more.

Applications

Secondary Battery Manufacturing

Electrode tab, current collector, can top/side, module/pack busbar, frame—cell, module, and pack welding

Automotive & Electrical Components

Hairpin motor coil, inverter/converter contacts, terminals, connectors, and other electrical component welding

Electronics & Precision

Mobile, wearable, and IT devices; small metal parts with fine structures
